The Concentric Track Paddock System
|Designed for the social welfare of horses not the convenience of humans
This video shows an amazing new (to me) way to set up a paddock system for keeping horses. I won’t blather on as the film says it all.
However is it right in all situations? I think there is a major flaw if you want to be able to simply and easily catch a horse as you would regularly, if you ran a livery stable. Firstly – where is it? Then when you know its current location… It can be difficult enough catching a feisty mare in a small square paddock where hopefully you can corner her. Can you imagine catching the same horse on a circular race track!
If you want to cut to the chase, the paddock system starts at 2 minutes and 20 seconds.
Incidentally this system has been set up at a very worthwhile charity called The Mane Chance that rescues and rehabilitates horses as well as providing “horse therapy” to humans.
